A study reveals the regime’s manipulation of Syrians’ salaries

A study published by the Omran Center for Strategic Studies revealed that the Assad regime’s salary policies for state employees push society toward militarization by increasing the salaries of military personnel, which exceed those of civilian government jobs. It highlights that salary scales grant the lowest military rank for volunteers with the least educational qualifications a wage higher than that of a newly employed state worker holding advanced degrees such as a master’s or a doctorate.
